Mammography
Mammography is the primary screening and diagnostic method for lumps, cysts, calcification breast cancer and an important tool to guide biopsies of the breast. A dedicated machine, designed specifically for breast imaging, directs a low energy x-ray beam through the breast to produce very high definition images.

Mammography's primary benefit is the ability to show extremely small, delicate structures of breast tissue with highest clarity. In fact, mammography can show changes in the breast up to two years before a patient or physician can feel them. For this reason, the American Medical Association and the American College of Radiology recommend women have annual mammograms beginning at age of 40 years.

One of the first in Pakistan, Mammomat Inspiration (Digital Mammography) is installed at Al Razi Healthcare. The system “thinks ahead” so-to-speak and is capable of screening more than 15 patients per hour. With Mammomat Inspiration, screening and diagnosis are based on a uniform digital platform for the first time.

Patient Benefits

Low dose
To match the breast density and thickness of your patients, Mammomat Inspiration offers three anode/filter combinations: Mo/Mo, Mo/Rh, and W/Rh. Opdose automatically select the best anode/filter combination and the lowest dose for the individual breast characteristics.

Intelligent compression
Opcomp function applies compression only as long as the patient’s breast is soft and pliable. For best image quality, it stops at the point of optimal compression.

Guide-in Biopsy
Tissue samples are taken with the aid of needle, a much less invasive alternative to surgical biopsy.
